The Billy family (Larissa is a special needs student in FDK), lost their home and belongings in a fire over the weekend.  Many of you are neighbours, and witnessed the devastating fire.  Fortunately everyone is safe, and have been taken in by friends and family.  If you would like to help Larissa and her family, you can donate on the <a href="https://www.gofundme.com/crown-cres-fire-assist-fund">GoFundMe</a> page, or email helpthebillyfamily@hotmail.com, if you have clothing donations to make.</p><p>​​​Let's show again, what a caring school community we have.<br></p>
Let's Help Katiehttp://whd.scdsb.on.ca/about-us/news/school-news/181Let's Help Katie<p><span class="ms-rteFontSize-2" style="color:#333333;font-family:lato, arial, sans-serif;background-color:#ffffff;">We have a student and her family who could use our help, as a school community.  ​Katie is a student at our school. At 6 months of age she was diagnosed with Neurofibromatosis (a condition that causes tumors to grow in her body). </span></p><p><span class="ms-rteFontSize-2" style="color:#333333;font-family:lato, arial, sans-serif;background-color:#ffffff;"> Katie is now 8 years of age and has struggled for years with the inherent side effects of the condition.  She has developed  tumors, one of which has caused her to lose the sight in one eye, and risks losing sight in the other. She has started a second round of chemotherapy, ​and the family could use our help as they make weekly trips to Sick Kids.  </span></p><p><span class="ms-rteFontSize-2" style="color:#333333;font-family:lato, arial, sans-serif;background-color:#ffffff;">If you feel you could help Katie and her family, please follow the link to her <a href="https://www.gofundme.com/c8zmqm-help-for-katie">GoFundMe page​</a>.  We have a close, caring school community​ that we know will help support one of our own.</span></p>
